Each year the True Leaf team chooses a select group of events to attend. We often attend different events each year, with the intent of supporting the organizations we value, expanding our network, learning new information, gaining awareness of new ideas and trends, and more.
The events we plan to attend in the next 12 months are included on this page. We may add events throughout the year, so check back to see where we’ll be. We share this list with you because we often recommend events to clients, and you may find something of value for yourself professionally or personally on this list.
For events we’ve attended in previous years, see the links at the bottom of this page.
2024 Events
Impressions Expo (March 21-23, 2024, Atlantic City)
Impressions Expo is the expo and conference for the decorated apparel industry. For businesses that produce wearable items for your staff and/or to sell, the information and exhibitors at this event would be of interest. In 2024 this show takes place in three cities; our team is attending the Atlantic City show.
Great Homeschool Convention – Ohio (April 4-6, 2024, Cincinnati)
Great Homeschool Convention is billed as “the homeschool event of the year”. The show takes place in 5 cities in 2024 and features hundreds of workshops and exhibitors. At True Leaf we see a lot of overlap with our clients for the topics of sustainability, regenerative agriculture, homesteading, freedom, and homeschooling. We are homeschoolers ourselves, and look forward to what we’ll learn at this event.
Abilities Expo NY Metro (May 3-5, 2024, Edison, NJ)
For many years one of our projects was to manage the content program for the Abilities Expo shows, the largest shows for the disability community in North America. Content production is a strength of True Leaf co-founder Sarah Galbraith Laucks. She served as the director of education and events for the shows from November 2007 to June 2018, and again from September 2021 to February 2024. Abilities Expo NY Metro features the last program she crafted for the shows.
OEFFA Organic Produce Farm Tour (July 13, West Salem, OH)
This farm tour was part of the 2024 OEFFA Farm Tour and Workshop Series. True Leaf is an active member of OEFFA in support of our clients who are organic, sustainable, and/or regenerative farmers. The tour gave Marc an opportunity to visit Hostetler’s Organics and network with other OEFFA members. Hostetler’s has been growing OEFFA-certified organic produce since 2005. Each season the farm supplies Green Field Farms Co-op with zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, watermelon, fall squash, hay, and corn. Attendees had the opportunity to learn techniques to increase production and profitability from a successful grower with years of experience.
Maker Faire Wayne County (July 27, 2024, Wooster, OH)
Maker Faire Wayne County was a unique experience. The 2024 event combined with the annual convention of the AC Gilbert Heritage Society resulting in a Maker Extravaganza. A Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects. True Leaf participated in this event as a “thank you” since it was through the 2023 event that we made connections that enabled our recent relocation to Ohio. We showcased Marc’s photography, including his commercial work, and talked with attendees about the agritourism attraction we are developing on our Ohio farm. Sarah was attracted to participating because the Romich Foundation is a main sponsor – Barry Romich is one of the people who developed AAC’s – augmentative and alternative communication devices. Sarah has worked with many people who use AAC’s to communicate and we are very happy to support Romich Foundation efforts.
